Are you a leader or a manager?
As you develop professionally and decide on a career path, whether a doctor, director of marketing or an entrepreneur, you will learn different skills and methods. Those skills could lead you on a journey to manage a department and even a company.
Now is the time to start thinking about what type of leader you want to be. Are you a leader or manager? What is the difference? Both share similarities and but there are some distinct differences.
The best way to remember the difference is that leaders carry out and inspire the vision while managers carry out the mission with specific goals. Manager's plan, organize and delegate task to get the job done. You need to have a little bit of both to be a great leader with effective communication skills active listening skills and team building skills. So, I will ask you again are you a leader or a manager if your answer is both you're on your way to becoming an effective leader.
